When I first discovered Donut World, they had one location on Market St. I moved to the Triad region in 1988 and had been searching for many years for a doughnut that was similar to Canadian doughnuts. I'm making a long story short. The end result was me going and taking their Donuts (by the dozen) to where I was employed and telling everybody to go and buy doughnuts from this new donut shop. The reason I did that primarily is I did not want them to fail. I finally found a doughnut that was amazing. I think they are the best Donuts in the NC (maybe even this side of the Mississippi).
Service was fast and friendly. I got the maple raised donut and the vanilla raised donut with a coffee. The donuts were delicious, but I'll say they are thicker than donuts that you'd get from places like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin.
Great blueberry cake donuts!!! Krispy Kreme was out of the blueberry and we found this shop. We will only be going here from now on.
Visited donut world as we explore some different options for our wedding dessert table....after all, who doesn't love donuts? We got there later in the day, so missed the prime selection of donuts but still got some great flavors. They even have a few different styles, some are more cakey while others are more traditional airy donut. The woman behind the counter was friendly and quick to answer all the of our questions. The pricing I thought was extremely reasonable, only $1/donut when you buy by the dozen, much better than some of the local competitor. I think this is a definite possibility for our wedding, the question will just be, what flavors to get
Amazing donut place. Great value and simple donuts that aren't trying to do too much. Stopped by for a quick bite and was greeted with a wide variety to donuts to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helped us with our order and provided some recommendations. Not a lot of seating inside so prepare to take to-go if needed. The donuts aren't anything crazy complex, they are just nice simple donuts you can get a whole lot of. Would highly recommend anyone who wants to fulfill their donut craving.

Cake or yeast? Good luck deciding. Donut World has been a staple at my place of work for awhile now. These little bundles of excellence is the true breakfast of champions. Nothing like seeing the frowns flip to smiles when a dozen of these come through that door. Iced? They got you. Custard-filled? They got you. Pillowy goodness enrobed in cinnamon sugar? Donut World GOT YOU, boo! The process is quick, easy and painless but the selection process is damn near impossible. The lady I encountered was very polite and helpful with all of my questions. In the mood for a variety of freshly made doughnuts to curb that appetite? Give Donut World a go, thank me later.
Tried this place for the first time today. It is well worth all of the hype I have heard. Don't get me wrong, I love Krispy Kreme as much as the best southerner, but those are thick and soft without all the oil!
